Platform Engineer - AWS Cloud Observability Inside IR35 Contract London, Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite

A leading hedge fund is looking for a Platform Engineer to help build and scale observability across a large AWS and Kubernetes environment.

The firm already has an established observability capability across its on-premises estate and is now building the equivalent platform across a growing, multi-account AWS environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build scalable observability patterns across AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Integrate cloud telemetry with existing logging, metrics and alerting platforms.
  • Automate workload onboarding, alerting and dashboard configuration.
  • Link observability data to service ownership and incident-management tooling.
  • Reduce manual effort through standardisation and automation.

Requirements

  • Experience building or scaling observability platforms in production.
  • Strong AWS and EKS/Kubernetes knowledge.
  • Good understanding of logs, metrics, telemetry and alerting.
  • Experience with IaC and automation.
  • The core challenge is building a cloud observability platform that scales, integrates with service ownership, supports both existing and new workloads and is easy for engineering teams to adopt.
