Platform DevOps Engineer| 6 Months (Outside IR35)| Hybrid (Edinburgh/Glasgow)Harvey Nash's Client is recruiting for a Platform DevOps Engineer on a 6 months contract.Main ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain the OpenShift 4.x platform on AWS, ensuring it is optimised to handle the containerised development and production workloads.Design, implement, and manage code-driven solutions for CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and other essential platform services.Collaborate closely with product teams to help them address real-world challenges in a manner that aligns with the enterprise architecture, allowing for the development of platform features that can be broadly applied.Contribute to the design, construction, and implementation of the strategy for monitoring, alerting, metrics, and logging.Assist in developing a hybrid application model that leverages both AWS native tools and OCP containers to maximize the advantages of each.Design and maintain a Jira platform service offering that includes a change and test pipeline.Create and manage an automated system for building Ubuntu machines (physical laptops) for development purposesDesign and maintain processes that provide runtime environments for delivery pipelines.Research and support the transition from legacy delivery pipeline tools to a modern alternativeProvide platform engineering services to continuously update core platforms, whether on-premises, in the cloud, or serverless, including ensuring their security and reliability.Key SkillsContainerisation technologies.CI/CD methodology and tooling for Containerisation and AWSInfrastructure as Code principles.Networking FundamentalsDesigning and building platforms in AWSObservability and TelemetrySecurity Tooling and PracticesIntroducing new efficient processes or concepts within the DevOps environment.Working with business stakeholders, to understand the context, and to focus on delivering valueWorking in the Agile delivery models - such as Scrum and/or Kanban frameworksThis role falls Outside of IR35 and is hybrid working with the expectation to attend the Edinburgh or Glasgow Office once a month.
