Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and work from fabrication and installation drawings.
  • Perform sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and fitting activities using a range of hand tools and techniques.
  • Follow manufacturing processes and maintain compliance with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and other trades to resolve practical production issues.
  • Maintain quality standards and work within specified tolerances.
  • Support the development of apprentices by sharing trade knowledge and best practices.
  • Adapt to evolving technologies, drawings, and industry work practices.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and associated trade practices.
  • Understanding of quality standards and work tolerances.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication and installation drawings.
  • Strong hand skills for assembly and fabrication tasks.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong SHE risk awareness and commitment to safe working practices.
  • Effective communication, reliability, and practical problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

  • Recognised trade papers/apprenticeship certification.
  • Relevant safety certifications, such as SHE induction, COSHH awareness, Working at Height, or equivalent
