Summary: The role of Process/Plant Operator involves overseeing the operations at a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant for a Tier 1 contractor on the United Utilities AMP7 framework. The position requires an experienced operator to monitor and adjust process parameters, ensuring optimal performance while handling physically demanding tasks. The contract is for 18 months and is classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for process monitoring of the new plant
- Daily monitoring of the process operating parameters (MLSS, SSVI, final effluent analyses, sludge thickener performance, sludge, chemicals)
- Daily monitoring of equipment (oxidation ditch (inducers, blowers, instruments, ferric, caustic, sludge thickeners, etc)
- Monitoring of analysers, recalibration of instruments, ordering of reagents
- Adjustment of process parameters to maintain performance
- Reporting to Advance Plus process commissioning engineer
- Consultation with client, suppliers and Advance Plus process team
- Regular meetings with UU re progress, performance, etc
- Daily logs
- Ordering of chemicals as required (including ferric, caustic, poly, reagents, cuvettes for sampling analyses)
- Taking deliveries of chemicals
- Assisting Advance Plus team with shutdowns, access, etc
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of wastewater assets and processes
- Experience in an operational environment

- Strong communication skills for consultation and reporting
