Summary: An experienced Planner is sought to join a prominent contractor in the construction and engineering sector, known for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. The role requires expertise in MEP planning, proficiency in Primavera P6, and the ability to monitor project progress and communicate effectively with site management. The position involves both site and office work, with hybrid working options available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate MEP planning experience within construction projects
- Be proficient in the use of Primavera P6, including logic links, resourcing data, and programme management
- Understand the sequencing of key MEP activities, including dependencies, milestones, and the critical path
- Monitor progress against an accepted Cl. 31 programme and provide weekly internal progress updates (including % complete)
- Lead internal meetings and present programme updates
- Liaise effectively with site management to capture and report weekly progress
- Attend site inspections (initially alongside site management) to review progress and identify key issues and delays
- Produce monthly Cl. 32 updates and impact programmes to reflect progress, site conditions, and compensation events for client issue
- Prepare a monthly programme narrative to accompany Cl. 32 updates, including summaries of commercial, technical, and key project issues (supported by the project team)
- Develop and maintain labour histograms aligned with programme updates
- Produce impact programmes in response to compensation events as required
- Maintain an understanding of labour allocation, productivity, and the effects of delay and disruption
- Support the team in understanding and monitoring productivity reporting
- Demonstrate initiative, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
