Summary: The Placemaking and Community Engagement Partnerships Manager will play a pivotal role in connecting the London College of Communication with its local communities as it transitions to a new building in the Elephant and Castle regeneration area. This position involves leading partnerships and programs that foster social, cultural, and economic value while enhancing the College's reputation for innovation. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including community groups and local authorities, to activate public spaces and develop community-led initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community partnerships and funding, with a focus on creative engagement and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead place-based partnerships and programs that generate lasting social, cultural, and economic value.
  • Activate the College’s new public-facing spaces and develop community-led initiatives.
  • Secure external funding to support community engagement efforts.
  • Build relationships with Southwark Council, community groups, charities, cultural organizations, local businesses, and property developers.
  • Influence the College’s development and create lasting connections with surrounding communities.

Hybrid – LCC Elephant and Castle/Home

Play a key role shaping how London College of Communication connects with its surrounding communities. As London College of Communication prepares to move into its new building within the Elephant and Castle regeneration area, we are seeking an experienced partnerships professional to help ensure the College becomes an inclusive, creative and meaningful destination for local people.

Working with community groups, local authorities, cultural organisations, businesses and development partners, you will lead place-based partnerships and programmes that generate lasting social, cultural and economic value and strengthens the College’s reputation for innovation and collaboration in creative communication. You will help activate the College’s new public-facing spaces, develop community-led initiatives, secure external funding and strengthen LCC’s role as a creative anchor institution within South London. To facilitate this, you will need to build relationships with Southwark Council, community groups, charities, cultural organisations, local businesses, property developers and other partners.

This is a rare opportunity to influence a major moment in LCC’s development and help create a lasting connection between the College, its new home and the communities around it.
