Piping/Layout designer Smart 3D

Summary: The Piping/Layout Designer Smart 3D role involves creating technical solutions for piping and layout disciplines, ensuring compliance with customer specifications. The designer will independently model piping and supports using Smart3D, while also utilizing scans and 3D models to ensure clash-free designs. The position requires collaboration on multi-discipline projects, with a focus on effective installation methods. Fluency in Norwegian and English is essential for communication within the team and with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Estimate own workload
• Develop technical solutions for piping and layout discipline and deliver technical documentation according to customer requirements and specifications
• Independently model piping (and supports) in Smart3D and generate drawing documentation and MTO
• Utilize scans, 3D models, and site visits to ensure clash-free design and establish safe and effective installation methods

Key Skills:

• Minimum technical college education, preferably with a bachelor's or master's degree
• Experience working on multi-discipline projects with responsibility for piping and general layout
• Experience from site is a significant advantage
• Minimum 1 year of experience and independent use of Intergraph Smart3D layout systems for piping and general layout design
• Desirable to have participated in the preparation of work orders for installation work
• Familiarity with offshore/onshore process plants for oil and gas
• Fluent in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written
• Proficient in MS Office, Intergraph Smart3D, E3D, Microstation/AutoCAD, PIMS, HiDoc
