Summary: The Pipeline Engineer role involves performing preliminary offshore pipeline and riser design for early development phases, supporting further phases like FEED and Detail Design, and assisting COMPANY’s affiliates with pipeline integrity assessments. The position requires participation in technical meetings and the review of design work done by contractors, with some support for onshore pipeline engineering expected. The role is based in Paris, with potential ad-hoc missions in France or abroad.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing preliminary pipeline and riser design for shallow and deepwater offshore developments.
- Support FEED and Detail Design by reviewing documents issued by contractors and participating in technical meetings.
- Assist COMPANY’s affiliates in assessing pipeline integrity and recommending inspections and repairs.
- Conduct pipeline and riser life extension, re-qualification, decommissioning, and abandonment studies.
- Participate in technical project reviews, audits, and value engineering exercises.
- Capture lessons learned to improve COMPANY’s General Specifications.
- Provide similar support for onshore pipeline systems as needed.
Key Skills:
- 10 years’ experience in shallow water and deep offshore rigid pipeline and riser design.
- Knowledge in onshore pipeline design.
- Familiarity with offshore design standards and codes such as DNV ST F101, DNV ST F201, ASME B31.8, ASME B31.4, API STD 2RD, and API RP 1111.
- Minimum knowledge of onshore pipeline design codes (ASME B31.8, ASME B31.4, ISO 13623).
- Proficiency in English and French.
- Experience with non-metallic pipes and pre-commissioning activities is appreciated.
