Summary: The PHP Developer role involves joining a large end-user organization undergoing a digital transformation, focusing on the design, development, and optimization of PHP-based applications. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance PHP applications across web and enterprise environments
- Build and consume APIs (REST/JSON, SOAP) for integration's with third-party and internal systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, business analysts, and testers
- Optimise application performance, scalability, and security
- Deliver clean, well-documented code in line with coding standards
- Support UAT and provide production fixes when required
Key Skills:
- Strong commercial PHP development experience (7.x/8.x)
- Expertise with frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony
- Solid understanding of MySQL/MariaDB and database design principles
- Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3)
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker, or similar tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience

Akkodis Group have been exclusively retained by a large end-user organisation undergoing a major digital transformation. They require an experienced PHP Developer to join their in-house development team on a contract basis.
You will be working on the design, development, and optimisation of PHP-based applications, ensuring seamless integration with core business systems and delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
