  • Provide patient counselling on medication use, side effects, adherence, and self-care
  • Support and supervise pharmacy teams (technicians, dispensers, counter staff) and maintain efficient workflow
  • Manage controlled drugs and ensure safe storage, record-keeping, and regulatory compliance
  • Provide NHS and private services where commissioned and trained (site dependent), such as: New Medicine Service (NMS), Medicines Use Reviews, Vaccinations, Minor ailments advice and signposting
  • Liaise with prescribers, GP surgeries, and other healthcare professionals to resolve prescribing queries
  • Maintain accurate documentation and use pharmacy PMR systems confidently
  • Promote good governance, safeguarding awareness, and patient confidentiality

Key Skills:

  • MPharm degree (or equivalent)
  • Current GPhC registration (in good standing)
  • Recent experience in a relevant pharmacy setting (community/hospital/primary care—depending on shifts)
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, patient-centred approach
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and adapt to different systems and teams

About the Role

We are seeking Locum Pharmacists to provide safe, effective, and patient-focused pharmacy services in North West. Locum assignments may be available in community pharmacies , hospital settings , GP practices , and primary care services , supporting clinical care, dispensing operations, and medicines optimisation.
