Summary: The role of PeopleSoft Functional Consultant involves providing senior-level functional support for PeopleSoft Finance and General Ledger modules within a leading health organization. The consultant will act as a subject matter expert, resolving complex issues and collaborating with finance stakeholders while supporting an offshore team. This position is hybrid, based in London, and is offered on a 12-month contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior-level functional support across PeopleSoft Finance and General Ledger modules.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for PeopleSoft GL, including journals, ledgers, allocations, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Provide advanced support for incidents, service requests, and functional queries raised by finance users.
  • Work closely with an offshore Application Managed Support (AMS) team, supporting escalations and resolving complex issues.
  • Collaborate with finance stakeholders to investigate and resolve functional issues across integrated modules such as AP, AR, and Procurement.
  • Assist with system enhancements, testing, and improvements to PeopleSoft Finance functionality.
  • Support month-end and year-end finance processes by ensuring the integrity and completion of GL batches and processes.
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into system improvements or change requests.
  • Work alongside business and IT teams to support finance reporting, audit requests, and operational queries.
  • Contribute to preparation activities related to the organisation’s longer-term SAP transition, including data preparation and testing support.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience with PeopleSoft Finance and General Ledger (ideally v8.4).
  • Strong understanding of General Ledger processes and integration points with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Procurement.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex functional issues.
  • Experience supporting enterprise finance users and working with offshore support teams.
  • SQL knowledge required for investigations and analysis.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with finance and IT stakeholders.
  • Experience with incident management or IT service management tools is advantageous.
  • Additional experience with PeopleSoft AR, Inventory, Asset Management, or Project Costing is beneficial.
  • Understanding of UK or European VAT processes is desirable.
  • Fluent English required; additional European languages are advantageous.

Role
