People Performance Lead

Summary: The People Performance Lead at The Housing Network is responsible for managing employee relations matters, supporting HR processes, and building relationships with managers to enhance performance management. This role requires a strong background in HR advisory or generalist functions and a solid understanding of employment law. The position is based in Luton and is part of an organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The ideal candidate will possess coaching skills and a CIPD qualification at Level 5 or above.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, and capability from initial query through to resolution.
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to employee relations management information and reporting.
  • Support the delivery of manager-facing resources such as one-pagers, toolkits, guides, and FAQs.
  • Build partnering relationships with managers and team leaders across The Housing Network.
  • Contribute ideas for improving HR processes, templates, and overall service experience.
  • Support the Head of HR and CPO in designing and rolling out an effective performance management system.

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisory or HR Generalist role.
  • Sound working knowledge of employment law.
  • Experience managing or supporting employee relations casework.
  • Comfortable coaching and advising managers who are not HR specialists.
  • CIPD Level 5 or above (or working towards).

People Performance Lead

The Housing Network are currently recruiting for a People Performance Lead to work in Luton. We are the Housing Network (THN), a purpose-led organisation working in partnership with the YMCA to support our communities. We are in an exciting period of growth and are looking for experienced and passionate people to help us support vulnerable individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

The People Performance Lead Will Be Responsible For

  • Manage a caseload of ER matters -including disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, and capability -from initial query through to resolution
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to ER MI and reporting
  • Support the delivery of manager-facing resources: one-pagers, toolkits, guides, and FAQs that help managers handle conversations and cases with confidence
  • Build partnering relationships with managers and team leaders across THN -being visible, accessible, and trusted
  • Contribute ideas for improving HR processes, templates, and the overall service experience
  • Support the Head of HR and CPO in the design and roll out of an effective performance management system

The People Performance Lead Will Have

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisory or HR Generalist role
  • Sound working knowledge of employment law - able to advise confidently on common ER scenarios
  • Experience managing or supporting ER casework (disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, capability)
  • Comfortable coaching and advising managers who are not HR specialists
  • CIPD Level 5 or above (or working towards)
