PCB CAD Designer

Summary: The PCB CAD Designer role in Southampton involves working on a variety of projects focused on PCB design, layout, and routing for RF and high-speed digital boards using Altium software. The position is a full-time contract opportunity with a day rate of up to £425, classified as outside IR35, and requires active SC clearance. Key Responsibilities:

• PCB CAD design and layout
• Component placement and routing for RF and high-speed digital boards using Altium
• Design for manufacturing and testability
• Support design engineers in selecting specific PCB materials
• Design and verify high-speed traces and power traces
• Prepare manufacturing data and ensure compliance with IPC standards

Key Skills:

• More than 5 years of experience in PCB CAD design using Altium
• Expertise in electronic schematic capture and components library design
• Experience with mixed technology routing (SMT, PTH)
• Knowledge of RF and high-speed digital board design
• Deep understanding of IPC-A-600, IPC-6012, IPC-A-610, IPC-2221 standards
• Ability to design and verify balanced high-speed traces and copper distribution
