Summary: The Payroll Officer role is an immediate opportunity within a leading organization, focusing on processing payroll for approximately 1000 employees. This position is initially a fixed-term contract with potential for permanent placement, requiring expertise in payroll legislation and statutory calculations. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced payroll environment and a strong understanding of payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process multiple payrolls across all brands, paying approximately 1000 hourly paid and salaried employees.
  • Process the monthly transfers for overseas payrolls.
  • Ensure processing errors are minimised by continued development and improvement of internal processes and payroll system management.
  • Administer PAYE, NIC, P11D’s, Pensions and Auto-enrolment.
  • Process statutory year end returns and P60.
  • Payment of PAYE, attachments, pensions as required.
  • Preparation of various gross payroll reports.
  • Liaise with the wider business to promptly resolve queries.
  • Registering and updating payroll records for starters and leavers.
  • Issue all payslips electronically.
  • Process all recruitment invoices.
  • Keep up to date with all statutory and legislative regulations.
  • Processing all other pay related data.
  • Support ongoing continuous improvement projects.

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of payroll laws and regulations (taxation, deductions, benefits).
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced multi payroll environment.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., Sage).
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Competence in handling large volumes of numerical data.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and promptly resolve payroll-related issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain payroll related issues.
  • A strong understanding of data privacy.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks inline with business needs and payroll cut offs.
  • Excellent query resolution skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables).

Payroll Officer/ Immediate Start/ 1 Day WFH/ Excellent Benefits – Free Breakfast and Lunch/ Free on-Site Parking I am working with a highly impressive group business with an immediate requirement within their payroll team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Payroller to join an industry leading organisation. This position will initially be a fixed term contract with a high potential to convert to a permanent contract. Applicants will require previous experience in a Payroll officer capacity with full working knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory calculations.
