Summary: The Payroll Manager role in Belfast is a maternity cover position responsible for managing the outsourced payroll contract for a group of three companies, overseeing payroll for 1000 staff. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the outsourced payroll contract for 1000 weekly and monthly staff across three companies.
  • Act as the key point of contact with the payroll provider and drive improvements in payroll processing and reporting.
  • Ensure effective payroll controls and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Handle all aspects of payroll-related financial control, including month-end reconciliations and payroll reports.
  • Keep up to date with legislative changes and liaise with external agencies such as pension providers, auditors, and HMRC.

Key Skills:

  • Educated to GCSE level.
  • 2 A-levels or 5 years' payroll experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a large complex payroll function.
  • Experience with computerised payroll systems.
  • Working knowledge of UK PAYE.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • CIPP qualification is an advantage.
  • SAGE payroll qualification and SAGE 50 payroll experience are beneficial.
