Summary: The Payroll Clerk role is focused on managing the entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees. The position requires strong organisational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will handle various payroll administration tasks and serve as the primary contact for payroll-related inquiries. This role is part of a supportive team that values collaboration and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check the number of hours employees have worked.
  • Calculate wages and salaries.
  • Handle all aspects of payroll administration, including starters, leavers, statutory payments, and terminations.
  • Calculate pay raises.
  • Issue tax forms and related documentation and assist employees in completing them.
  • Deduct tax and national insurance payments.
  • Resolve issues employees have with timesheets, payslips, and other payroll matters.
  • Change employee bank records when necessary to process payments accurately.
  • Process third-party payments.
  • Calculate sick pay.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and assist with ad-hoc payroll tasks.
  • Prioritise workloads and constantly switch tasks and databases while answering telephone queries and dealing with employees.
  • Work to deadlines.
  • Maintain the Payroll mailbox.
  • Administer Attachment of Earnings.

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
