Delighted to be working with this Bristol based client as they seek an experienced Pay & Reward Specialist to lead the design and implementation of a fair, transparent and future-focused pay and job evaluation framework.

Working closely with the Chief People Officer, senior leadership, trade unions and key stakeholders, this is a 12 month FTC. The position has three specific focus areas: Alignment of pay and creation of a pathway approach to roles and experience, including communication and roll out. Develop a job evaluation scheme and framework for support staff Develop and further enhance the recognition scheme.

As such you will lead the development and rollout of a new pay and job evaluation framework, ensuring consistency, transparency and compliance while supporting strategic workforce objectives.

Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will oversee consultations, manage complex reward projects and provide expert advice on pay structures, allowances and grading. Key responsibilities will include: Design and implement a robust job evaluation framework, including job families, career pathways and role profiles. Lead Trade Union engagement and formal consultation processes, building strong partnerships throughout project delivery. Manage the phased rollout of the framework, ensuring effective governance, quality assurance and stakeholder buy-in. Review existing allowances and responsibility payments, ensuring consistency, fairness and market competitiveness. Analyse reward data and provide evidence-based recommendations to senior leadership. Develop clear guidance, training materials and communications to support managers and employees through change. Lead workshops, evaluation panels and appeals processes, ensuring transparency and consistency at every stage.

You will be an experienced Pay and Reward professional with experience in job evaluation, reward, compensation or pay framework design. With a strong understanding of equal pay principles, governance and risk, experience working with Trade Unions and leading consultation and negotiation processes would be an advantage. You will possess excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills alongside strong analytical capability with the ability to translate complex data into practical recommendations.

This a 12 month FTC, and can be based out of several offices in Bristol and the South West. The organisation offered hybrid working and flexible working arrangements. An immediate start or a 1-2 month notice period would be ideal.
