Job Summary This role is offered on a part time basis of 30 hours per week, this means that candidates interested in working part time are encouraged to apply and will receive a salary on a pro rata basis. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Cancer Patient Navigator in a progressive Cancer Services Team. We are looking for a motivated, organised and enthusiastic team player to join an established team. Training will be provided to support a new starter in this role. The individual will have an eye for detail ensuring accurate data input in line with National Cancer Waiting Times Guidance, Quality Surveillance and COSD and good communication skills. This role requires you to have current right to work in the UK which enables you to undertake the role without need of sponsorship. Accordingly, we regret that any application will not be considered if this requirement is not met. Given the current UK immigration requirements this role is not eligible for sponsorship, and it is not possible for the Trust to sponsor applicants for a visa for this role.
Main duties of the job This important role is to help support and navigate patients, their families and carers through Cancer pathways ensuring that the service's prime aim is to be patient-focussed and proactive in seeing that the patient receives the very best cancer pathway experience within the shortest time frame with continual communication and support. The role requires someone with exceptional organisational skills, who can demonstrate great communication and interpersonal skills. A caring and sensitive attitude is essential as you will be dealing with patients, theirfamilies and carers. The individual will be expected to work independently within the appropriate policies and procedures for the service.
