Summary: The role of Part Time Senior Finance Manager in the charity sector involves leading a small finance team and reporting directly to the CEO. The position requires overseeing the finance function, developing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial controls while actively contributing to the charity's strategy and income generation plans. The manager will also prepare reports for the CEO and Trustee Board and provide mentorship to team members. This is a three-month fixed-term contract with hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a small finance team, ensuring high performance and compliance with financial controls.
- Oversee the finance function and contribute to the charity's business strategy and income generation plans.
- Develop organization-wide and local project budgets, advising the CEO and Senior Leadership Team.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the CEO and Trustee Board.
- Guide and mentor team members, providing performance feedback.
- Ensure completion of all accounting functions, payroll, and compliance with legal requirements.
- Monitor and complete effective finance and administrative systems.
- Liaise with external auditors and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Key Skills:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant.
- Experience with charitable accounts and financial regulations.
- Ability to develop financial models and manage income generation.
- Experience in staff supervision and team management.
- Knowledge of restricted and unrestricted funds, and compliance with charity obligations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
