Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the finance function during a critical period, leading year-end and audit processes.
  • Work closely with the Co-CEOs and Board, providing clear financial insight to support decision-making.
  • Support and guide the Senior Finance Manager in delivering management accounts, cash flow, and day-to-day finance.
  • Review and improve processes across reporting, forecasting, grant management, and invoicing.
  • Design a longer-term structure for the finance function and build a practical business planning model.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and governance requirements while identifying opportunities for efficiency.

Key Skills:

  • Fully qualified accountant with strong senior finance leadership experience.
  • Experience leading year-end and audit processes with a solid understanding of financial controls, reporting, and governance.
  • Background in not-for-profit or smaller organizations, with exposure to grants and partial VAT recovery.
  • Proven ability to improve finance functions through systems, processes, or structure.
  • Confidence in working with CEOs, Boards, and audit committees.

About you
You are an experienced Finance Director who enjoys stepping into organisations at key moments and making a difference.
You are comfortable operating at board level while still being hands on when needed.
You bring clarity, structure and calm to busy environments and enjoy working with purpose led organisations where your work has real impact.
You are looking for a flexible, part time role where you can shape a finance function, not just maintain it.

Your experience
You are a fully qualified accountant with strong senior finance leadership experience.
You have led year end and audit processes and understand strong financial controls, reporting and governance.
You have worked in a not for profit or smaller organisation, ideally with exposure to grants and partial VAT recovery.
You have experience improving finance functions, whether through systems, processes or structure, and are confident working with CEOs, Boards and audit committees.
