Summary: The role of Part Time Assistant Management Accountant involves supporting a leading not-for-profit organization in Leeds on a hybrid basis. The position is part-time (60% FTE) for an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, focusing on enhancing accounting systems and processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Building strong working relationships across the organisation to deliver a genuinely value-adding finance service
- Producing first-stage analysis and variance commentary at month and year end
- Supporting the preparation of forecasts and longer-term financial plans, including ongoing monitoring and reporting
- Meeting regularly with budget holders to review spend against plan - spotting, resolving, or escalating issues early
- Acting as a first point of contact for finance questions and queries, responding promptly and helpfully
Key Skills:
- Experience in a busy, customer-focused finance role
- Solid management accounting skills - budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting, with the ability to identify and explain variances
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing deadlines
- Strong communication skills, including explaining complex information to non-specialists
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
- Strong IT skills, particularly across Microsoft Office, and an eye for using systems to support clear reporting
