Summary: The role of Part-Qualified ACA Audit Trainee in the nonprofit sector is designed for individuals nearing completion of their ICAEW ACA qualification. The position offers hands-on experience in auditing and accounting services tailored for charities and nonprofit organizations, within a supportive and collaborative environment. Trainees will engage with a diverse client portfolio, gaining valuable insights and technical skills while contributing to the firm's commitment to professional development. Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting audit fieldwork on behalf of a wide variety of nonprofit clients, with support from the wider audit team.
- Drafting recommendations for improvements to clients’ financial systems and controls.
- Attending client meetings with the wider team.
- Assisting in planning audits, including reviewing prior year information and preparing lead schedules.
- Preparing financial statements in line with relevant standards and legal requirements.
- Drafting corporation tax computations and supporting tax-related audit procedures.
- Supporting the preparation of audit close-out meeting materials and discussion points.
- Communicating effectively with internal teams, including technical and tax departments.
- Helping manage client expectations and meet deadlines throughout the audit process.
- Maintaining knowledge of all relevant ISA requirements and MKS internal policies in producing audit files.
- Demonstrating a solid understanding of double entry accounting/bookkeeping.
- Working with other trainees to deliver assignments and assisting them with their personal development.
Key Skills:
- Currently studying towards the ICAEW ACA qualification, having begun or completed professional level papers.
- Achieved a 2:1 or above from a degree in any discipline or progressed onto the ACA qualification via an alternative route, such as completing AAT Level 4.
- Obtained at least 112 UCAS points from three A-Levels or equivalent qualifications.
- At least 1 year of audit experience and experience of working with non-profit clients is mandatory.
- Technically competent.
- Experience of Pro-audit, CCH Accounts Production, Xero accounting, Quickbooks and Alphatax, Office 365 would be desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a passion for personal development.

Who are we looking for?
Currently studying towards the ICAEW ACA qualification, having begun or completed professional level papers
