Summary: DAC Beachcroft is seeking a paralegal for a commercial litigation role within their property damage team in Glasgow. The position involves managing a varied caseload of both Pursuer and Defender work in the Sheriff Court, focusing on small claims litigation. Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake general recoveries and small claims litigation with appropriate supervision.
- Perform task-based activities on claims for solicitors, including preliminary investigations and evidence gathering.
- Draft letters and reports to clients.
- Negotiate damages and legal expenses with third-party loss adjusters, insurers, and solicitors.
- Conduct research tasks and analyze documents to provide advice to team members or clients.
- Enforce judgments against third parties.
- Manage predominantly Pursuer cases, with some Defender claims.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of a degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) or Paralegal qualification.
- Highly organized with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of general contract and delict.
- IT literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with case management systems is advantageous.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues.
- Ability to adopt a commercial perspective on claims settlement.
