Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing military service records and identifying sensitive information for disclosure
- Liaising with military personnel and external stakeholders
- Updating the case management system with accurate information
- Following up on outstanding documents and actions
- Managing diary systems and updating the Compensation Recovery Unit (CRU)
- Supporting administrative tasks including management information, file closures, and transfers
- Reviewing and analysing medical records for causation assessment
- Assisting with claim valuation and calculating special damages
- Supporting settlement negotiations and liaising with third parties
Key Skills:
- Experience in a legal or professional services environment (desirable but not essential)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow structured processes while working independently
- Excellent organisational skills with effective workload prioritisation
- Confident in gathering, analysing, and recording information accurately
- IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience using a case or claims management system (desirable but not essential)

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Legacy Disease Team , where your work will directly support clients and contribute to achieving key performance and service delivery standards. As a Military Deafness Paralegal , you’ll play a vital role in managing sensitive cases, developing legal expertise, and gaining hands-on experience across the lifecycle of complex claims. This role is available for a 3 month contract based out of our Birmingham, Bolton or Liverpool office
Key Accountabilities
What You’ll Be Doing
You'll be working at the heart of the team, providing essential support while developing valuable legal skills. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Core Responsibilities
- Reviewing military service records and carefully identifying and redacting sensitive information for disclosure
- Liaising with military service personnel and external stakeholders
- Updating the case management system with accurate and timely information to track case progress
- Following up on outstanding documents, instructions, and actions to ensure cases stay on track
- Managing diary systems and updating the Compensation Recovery Unit (CRU)
- Supporting key administrative tasks including management information (MI), file closures, and transfers

- Due to the nature of this position, this role requires candidates to be a sole British National or dual national with one part being British, with no restrictions on working in the UK.
