Summary: The role of a Litigation Paralegal in HMRC’s Legal Group involves providing essential support to lawyers in a variety of litigation tasks. The position requires a legal qualification and previous litigation experience, with responsibilities including legal research, coordination of international litigation, and various administrative duties. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment, contributing to high-quality legal work across multiple areas of law. This is a 6-month initial contract based in Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with and coordinate international litigation, including liaising with clients and stakeholders.
- Conduct legal research on advisory work, including legislation and case law.
- Support Parliamentary Bill work and secondary legislation tasks.
- Perform various administrative tasks, including meeting coordination and management information support.
- Assist in the preparation of Instructions to Counsel and other legal documentation.
- Produce summaries of legal advice and assist with criminal investigation support tasks.
