Summary: The Insolvency Service is seeking a Paralegal for a 6-month hybrid contract, requiring three days of work in either Manchester or Birmingham. The role is classified as inside IR35, indicating specific tax implications for contractors. The position involves reviewing disqualification cases, collaborating with investigators, and managing legal processes related to disqualification and compensation. Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing disqualification cases submitted for authority to proceed (ATP) and making recommendations regarding public interest for disqualification and compensation proceedings.
- Collaborating with investigators and chief investigators to ensure timely decision-making.
- Handling post-ATP matters and liaising with defendants to ensure effective delivery of disqualification and compensation undertakings.
- Reviewing referrals from Companies House for breaches of legislation and drafting Charging Decisions.
- Arranging and chairing Senior Paralegal monthly technical meetings on a rota basis.
- Working with colleagues across Legal Services Directorate to develop and share best practices and policies.
