You will have file ownership of different types of cases in their early stages and be supporting other fee earners with running files past the first hearing to Trial. This will include dealing with Court directions, disclosure, gathering evidence and witness statements, assessing risks and advising clients on innovative ways to address the problems that they are facing.You will be part of the group within the team who are responsible for researching and answering our clients general queries which we receive on a daily basis.You would also offer an element of support to junior colleagues.You would be expected to get involved in our client outreach activities, such as training, written legal updates and social media.What we re looking forYou will need to be a team player, diligent and an effective communicator ensuring that all clients have the information they need. As well as being comfortable working collaboratively, you will also be able to work independently, at all times ensuring that the clients needs are paramount. A positive attitude is essential.We are looking for someone with a knowledge of the CPR and how a litigation case is progressed and with some experience of file management.Initially you will be office-based in Exeter to help you familiarise yourself with the team, our work, and the support available to you. Whilst we are happy to discuss hybrid working arrangements, this role will require the successful candidate to work a minimum of 2 days per week in the office alongside other commitments the role will require such as Court attendance.What you ll haveYou will be degree level or equivalent or have previous experience in litigation work ideally running your own caseload.
