Summary: The Panel Wireman role is a 3-month rolling contract based in Peterborough, focusing on the fabrication and assembly of electrical control panels for a major manufacturing company. The position requires working Monday to Friday with 10-hour shifts and offers opportunities for overtime. Candidates must have relevant experience and qualifications in panel wiring and electrical components. The role is classified as outside IR35, allowing for greater flexibility in contracting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate panels and fit electrical components according to detailed engineering drawings
- Drilling, Tapping, Trunking, Conduit of panel etc
- Installing electrical components such as circuit breakers, fuses, PLC’s, power supplies, motors, drives etc
- Wiring panels – crimping, soldering, terminating, stripping wires
- Basic testing of control panels
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in panel wiring within an industrial environment
- Understanding schematics and layout drawings
- Expertise in panel modification, building, and machine wiring
- Electrical qualification, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or apprentice trained
- Ability to fault find and repair a variety of control panels
- Hardworking, reliable, and enthusiastic
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members
