Summary: The Packaging Development Apprentice role at Diageo involves supporting packaging projects across Europe, focusing on brand renovations, supplier transitions, and production changes. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver technical packaging solutions for innovation, renovation, and supply projects across Europe.
- Ensure packaging materials are fit for purpose and optimized for production, quality, and sustainability.
- Develop accurate, robust packaging specifications that protect both products and brand integrity.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Demand, Technical Operations, Procurement, and external suppliers.
- Champion Diageo's methodologies to deliver new products efficiently and effectively.
- Drive packaging testing for functionality, compatibility, compliance, and durability.
- Proactively address commercialization hurdles with creative, solutions-oriented thinking.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships across supply and demand stakeholders to align priorities and deliver results.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and mentorship to peers and project teams.
Key Skills:
- Experience in technical packaging roles within the consumer goods industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, component design, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance.
- Proven track record in product commercialization and managing complex packaging projects from concept to launch.
- Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative, proactive mindset and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% (domestic and international).
