Summary: The Packaging Designer at Cromwell is responsible for managing the end-to-end packaging process, driving the own brand strategy, and ensuring continuous improvement. This role involves collaboration across functions to optimize packaging efficiency and requires the creation and amendment of artwork. The designer will also engage with stakeholders to deliver packaging briefs that align with brand guidelines and market trends. Key tasks include conceptualizing designs, preparing artwork, and conducting market research to inform design decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing for delivery of multiple briefs by gathering information and materials.
  • Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches and working on layouts ready for output.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to gather feedback and requirements for efficient product packaging processes.
  • Building and managing effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Conceptualizing designs aligned with brand guidelines and market trends.
  • Applying brand guidelines to create visually impactful packaging.
  • Considering physical structure and functionality of packaging in design.
  • Conducting market research on packaging trends and consumer preferences.
  • Ensuring design compatibility with manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Creating final artwork files for printing, including colour separations.
  • Creating mockups and physical prototypes for presentations and testing.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with Full Creative Suite.
  • Graphic design and layout skills.
  • Proficiency in Creative Cloud, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of colour theory, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
  • Creative thinking and ability to generate innovative design concepts.
  • Technical knowledge of packaging materials and printing processes.
  • Effective communication skills with clients and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills for packaging design challenges.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in design elements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
