Outfit Engineer

Summary: Join a leading aerospace and defence organisation as an Outfit Engineer in Scotstoun, Glasgow, working on a hybrid basis. This role involves undertaking integration activities related to ship outfit systems and requires knowledge of naval or commercial ship design. The position is initially for 12 months and offers a dynamic work environment focused on innovation and creativity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake a defined range of Wholeship - Integration activities including Outfit systems, compartment design, and integration activities.
• Support system and spatial integration issues with other disciplines.
• Design or operate deck coverings, coatings, insulation & linings, doors, hatches, scuttles, and various ship/marine compartments.

Key Skills:

• Good experience in an Outfit Ship Design environment.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to management and peers.
• Displays flexibility through response to radical changes.
• Strong understanding of Detail Design Requirements in the Engineering Lifecycle.
• Experience with CAD software like AutoCAD or FORAN is desirable.
• Degree qualified in a Technology, Engineering, or Science related discipline.
• Working towards registration as Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council.
• Good experience in engineering or a defence-related industry.

Salary (Rate): £38.21
