Summary: We are seeking a French-speaking Commercial Accountant for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Reading, focusing on financial reporting and supplier income management across European operations. The role requires a qualified accountant with strong commercial awareness to provide insights and manage stakeholder relationships. This position combines technical accounting with commercial strategy, making it an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management information and supplier billing across European entities
- Reconcile and manage supply chain balance sheets
- Analyse income variances against forecast and budget, partnering with commercial teams
- Produce financial reports and analysis for stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities
- Maintain knowledge of supplier contract terms to maximise commercial opportunities
- Support debt collection activities and manage relationships with European suppliers
Key Skills:
- Fluent French (C1 level) - you'll be liaising regularly with French-speaking colleagues and suppliers
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
- Advanced Excel skills with experience handling large datasets
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical capabilities
- Self-motivated with a proactive, problem-solving approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident personality with ability to balance competing priorities
