We're looking for an Oracle Infrastructure Engineer for a public sector organisation based in Blackpool / Newcastle / Birmingham / Leeds / Manchester (hybrid) on an initial 2-month contract, paying up to £700 per day (Inside IR35).
This is a hybrid role with an expectation to attend the office 3 days per week across any of the above locations.
The successful Senior Infrastructure Engineer will join an established infrastructure team, bringing deep hands-on expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Exadata to support both BAU operational delivery and more complex design activity.
You'll help upskill existing colleagues and take on day-to-day workload, freeing others to focus on strategic priorities.
Strong, recent experience across OCI and Exadata gained within the last five years is essential to this role.
You will need proven experience working with the following: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) at a senior level Oracle Exadata configuration and support Oracle Base Database (RDBMS 11.2 through to 23ai) Oracle RAC, including ASM, AFD, HANFS and TAF Dataguard setup and configuration RMAN Backup and Recovery Infrastructure as Code, specifically writing and debugging Terraform and Ansible Git repository management Linux and/or AIX operating system environments.
You'll also need practical exposure to cloud and security disciplines, including areas such as: AWS public cloud technologies Network segregation within public cloud environments Transport encryption and database encryption options, including Oracle TDE and TLS Migration testing via Oracle and AWS tooling OIDC secure authentication for GitLab runners Oracle multitenant architecture OEM and OCI Database Management tooling Patching and upgrade delivery Data migration tooling including Datapump, Golden Gate and ZDM.
Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical database environments would be a bonus.
