Summary: The Oracle ERP Technical Support Consultant role involves providing essential support for Oracle ERP systems within a financial context, particularly for an insurance client. The consultant will manage both technical and functional aspects of the ERP, ensuring effective system operation and data integrity. Responsibilities include system configuration, problem resolution, and collaboration with IT teams to implement changes and best practices. This position requires a deep understanding of financial modules and strong communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Oracle ERP from both technical and functional perspectives to support the Finance function, including security, updates, and process documentation.
  • Design and configure Oracle ERP to meet business needs effectively.
  • Support business financial processes ensuring the system meets operational requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain Oracle systems for effective process operation and data transfer.
  • Handle problem and incident management for issues on the Oracle platform and data movements.
  • Collaborate with Group IT for effective change management and issue resolution.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to Oracle applications and components.
  • Engage in planning, scoping, and managing deliverables for ERP functionalities.
  • Deliver tasks related to Oracle technology, including support and testing activities.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, providing guidance aligned with strategy and standards.
  • Establish best practices for Oracle platform support in collaboration with project teams and business partners.
  • Liaise with Oracle Support for issue resolution and implementation of patch changes.

Key Skills:

  • Deep experience (5+ years) with core financial modules: AP, AR, CE, FA, ICO, ASL, GL, Oracle Tax.
  • Experience with reporting tools: BI Publisher, OTBI, FRS.
  • ERP System Support & Configuration.
  • Relevant experience in financial/commercial roles, preferably in the insurance sector.
  • Hands-on experience in supporting and configuring Oracle ERP for finance teams.
  • Experience managing security, patching, updates, and integrations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across Oracle ERP and data interfaces.
  • Experience coordinating with Oracle Support for resolution.
  • Systems Integration & Data Flow understanding.
  • Familiarity with data mapping, ETL, or Middleware tools.
  • Ability to translate technical information to non-technical individuals.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with project delivery methodologies (Agile/Waterfall).
  • Knowledge of Oracle quarterly updates/patching processes.
  • Experience with offshore or nearshore collaboration models.
