Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server database systems.
- Perform regular database upgrades, patching, migrations, and backups.
- Manage users, roles, access privileges, and security policies.
- Monitor and tune database performance (indexing, partitioning, AWR reports, traces).
- Troubleshoot slow-running queries and optimize SQL code.
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements.
- Implement and manage RMAN, Data Guard, AlwaysOn, and other HA/DR solutions.
- Perform backup validation, disaster recovery planning, and failover testing.
- Ensure database compliance with security policies and regulatory standards.
- Conduct audits, risk assessments, and security hardening.
- Work closely with application development teams to design database schemas, stored procedures, views, and triggers.
- Provide L2/L3 support for database-related incidents.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical production environments.
- Serve as the SME for database performance incidents, root cause analysis, and major production events.
