Summary: The Oracle DBA role involves joining a technology team in Edinburgh to support mission-critical systems within a regulated financial services environment. The position requires ensuring the performance, resilience, and security of enterprise Oracle platforms across on-prem and cloud environments. The successful candidate will also contribute to cloud transformation initiatives and support automation and DevOps processes. This is a contract position for 6 months with a focus on high availability and performance management of Oracle databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and optimise Oracle database environments
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security
  • Manage backup, recovery, patching, and upgrades
  • Support technologies including Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, RAC, Exadata
  • Contribute to cloud transformation initiatives (OCI & Azure)
  • Support automation, DevOps, CI/CD, and Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Participate in incident, change, and on-call support
  • Provide secondary support for SQL Server where needed

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years’ Oracle DBA experience in enterprise environments
  • Strong expertise in Oracle 19c / 23ai, SQL, PL/SQL
  • Experience with OCI and cloud database services
  • Solid Linux and scripting skills
  • Strong problem-solving and communication abilities

Change Digital are looking for an experienced Oracle DBA to join our Edinburgh based client’s technology team, supporting mission critical systems within a regulated financial services environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the performance, resilience, and security of enterprise Oracle platforms across on-prem and cloud (OCI & Azure).
