Summary: The role of Oracle Database Administrator requires an experienced professional with strong SQL Server expertise to manage critical production database environments. The candidate will ensure the stability, performance, security, and resilience of enterprise database platforms across Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server technologies. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of database systems, as well as collaboration with various teams to support business-critical systems. Active SC Clearance is mandatory for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure and maintain Oracle and SQL Server database environments
- Perform database upgrades, patching, migrations and backup operations
- Manage database users, roles, privileges and security policies
- Monitor and optimise database performance (indexing, partitioning, AWR reports, tracing)
- Troubleshoot slow-running queries and optimise SQL code
- Implement and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions including RMAN, Data Guard, ASM and SQL Server AlwaysOn
- Conduct backup validation, disaster recovery planning and failover testing
- Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory standards
- Perform audits, risk assessments and security hardening
- Provide L2/L3 support for database incidents and participate in on-call rotation
- Collaborate with solution architects, developers and infrastructure teams
- Act as SME for database performance incidents, root cause analysis and major production events
Key Skills:
- Active and current SC Clearance (mandatory)
- Strong DBA experience across Oracle and SQL Server platforms
- Oracle administration (11g, 12c, 19c)
- SQL Server administration (2016, 2019)
- Experience with RMAN, Data Guard and ASM
- Strong SQL query tuning and optimisation skills

- Experience working within Linux/UNIX and Windows Server environments
- Strong collaboration skills across technical teams
