Summary: The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) role involves supporting ongoing Oracle projects, including data migration and upgrading Legacy databases to the latest SQL version. The position requires a strong background in Oracle, SQL, and development, with a focus on ensuring database performance, security, and integrity. The role is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and requires active DV clearance. The contract is for six months and is offered on an on-site basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement SQL, PL/SQL, and Scripting solutions.
  • Design and build Oracle applications.
  • Support data migration projects.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience with Oracle database upgrades and migrations.
  • Active DV clearance.
  • Familiarity with Legacy Oracle databases (Version 8 onwards).
  • Expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and Scripting languages (Python, Visual Basic, etc.).
  • Previous experience in Oracle development.

Salary (Rate): £85.00/hr

Oracle DBA (DV Cleared) - £675 per day via Umbrella - 6-month contract - Northern Ireland (Onsite) - SCC Flex Contract

We are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to assist our customer with ongoing Oracle projects, including data migration and moving Legacy databases to the latest version of SQL . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oracle , SQL , and development .

Your responsibilities as the Oracle DBA :

  • Assist with O racle database upgrades and migrations : Plan, coordinate, and execute database upgrades and migrations to ensure minimal downtime and data integrity.
  • Maintain and manage Legacy Oracle databases (Version 8 onwards) : Ensure optimal performance, security, and availability of Legacy systems. Implement necessary updates and patches.
  • Develop and implement SQL, PL/SQL , and Scripting solutions: Create, optimize, and maintain SQL and PL/SQL scripts. Automate tasks using Python, Visual Basic, and other Scripting languages.
  • Design and build Oracle applications: Collaborate with development teams to deliver scalable and secure Oracle applications that meet project requirements.
  • Support data migration projects: Move Legacy databases to the latest version of SQL and ensure smooth transition with minimal disruption.

As a successful Oracle DBA , you will have:

  • Proven experience with Oracle database upgrades and migrations.
  • Active DV clearance (mandatory).
  • Familiarity with Legacy Oracle databases (Version 8 onwards).
  • Expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and Scripting languages (Python, Visual Basic, etc.).
  • Previous experience in Oracle development, including designing and building Oracle applications.
