Summary: The role of Oracle Architect involves leading the installation, integration, and configuration of Oracle 19c environments, specifically upgrading from 12c. The position requires extensive experience in managing complex on-premise infrastructures, particularly with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN. The successful candidate will work closely with a national programme, ensuring stability and performance while producing high-quality documentation. DV clearance is mandatory for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading on the installation, integration and configuration of Oracle 19c environments (upgrading from 12c)
- Working directly with physical Red Hat 8 servers and VMs (non-cloud environment)
- Troubleshooting complex installations and performing partitioning, RAC and Data Guard configuration
- Managing performance tuning, RMAN backup and recovery, and high availability solutions
- Supporting database migrations using restore/backup and config alignment
- Collaborating with the lead architect to challenge and refine third-party design documentation
- Producing high-quality installation/configuration documentation that withstands technical scrutiny
Key Skills:
- Extensive Oracle Architect / DBA experience
- Oracle 12c to 19c upgrade and install experience
- Hands-on configuration from initial boot to full integration
- Deep understanding of Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, performance tuning, partitioning, and Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
- Strong troubleshooting & debugging skills
- Experience working in non-cloud / physical Red Hat Linux environments
