Optical Field Engineer

Summary: The Optical Field Engineer role involves working as part of a field team to handle DWDM/Optical site installations and commissioning for a Tier 1 product company in the UK, specifically in the Outer London and Midlands areas. Key Responsibilities:

• Handle DWDM/Optical site installations and commissioning.
• Perform grounding, power cabling, rack/shelf setup, fiber cleaning, OTDR & BER testing.
• Coordinate site access, clearances, and material verification.
• Manage cabling, labeling, routing, terminations, and basic turn-up.
• Enable remote commissioning and prepare handover documentation.
• Conduct node acceptance, including 100G testing.
• Troubleshoot to minimize downtime and support handover with customers.
• Travel extensively and work independently.
• Knowledge of safety and quality compliance is a plus.

Key Skills:

• Experience with DWDM/Optical installations.
