Operations Officer - Maternity Cover Wiltshire and Swindon

We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised and relationship-focused Operations Officer to join our England Operations team on a maternity cover basis.

Following a comprehensive handover period with the current post-holder, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of Licensed Organisations (LOs), supporting them to deliver high-quality DofE programmes to young people.

This is a field-based role, with home working when not attending meetings, training sessions or events. Applicants should live within or close to the portfolio area and be willing to travel regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with schools, colleges, charities, youth organisations and other Licensed Organisations.
  • Provide day-to-day support, guidance, training and development to DofE leaders and staff.
  • Develop and implement action plans to drive participation, quality and growth.
  • Monitor performance, analyse data and support organisations to achieve their targets.
  • Champion inclusion by increasing participation among young people experiencing marginalisation.
  • Conduct licence reviews and support the onboarding of new organisations.
  • Contribute to grant-funded projects, national events and cross-team initiatives.

What we are looking for:

You'll be a confident communicator who enjoys building relationships and influencing others.

You'll be highly organised, self-motivated and able to manage a varied workload while working independently and as part of a team.

We're particularly interested in candidates with:

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organisational, administrative and communication abilities.
  • Experience analysing information and using data to inform decisions.
  • Confidence delivering meetings, presentations and training sessions.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, education, or youth work sectors (desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Residence within or close to the designated portfolio area.
  • Willingness to travel across the portfolio area.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work early mornings, evenings and weekends.

B. this position is a 13 month Maternity Contract until: December 2027.
