Summary: The Operations & Engineering Scheduler (Maternity Cover) is responsible for managing shift schedules for Playout, OU, and Engineering staff in a 24/7 environment. This role involves coordinating leave requests, ensuring timely processing of freelance staff POs, and providing reports on overtime and freelance costs. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining effective communication with team managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains shift rosters for all Playout, OU and Engineering staff within a 24/7 environment
  • Responsible for creating, modifying, and distributing shift schedules for staff and freelancers
  • Primary point of contact for all leave requests
  • Responsible for handling replacement coverage due to sickness, leave or when extra shift cover is required
  • Working with the Frame 25 Hive portal
  • Responsible for ensuring PO’s for freelance staff are processed in a timely manner
  • Provide monthly reports of overtime hours and freelance costs
  • Ensure that HR systems are kept up to date to reflect the team’s leave and sickness records
  • Evaluate staffing practices to schedule staff in the most efficient manner
  • Coordinate and meet regularly with team managers to determine coverage options/solutions
  • Enhance and refine all scheduling workflows and procedures as needed
  • Point person for any other special projects when assigned

Key Skills:

  • Experience scheduling or project management experience is an advantage (within a 24/7 environment)
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills, particularly Excel
  • Experience in multi-tasking under tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A self-starter that is highly motivated and driven with the ability to grasp concepts quickly
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Strong personal skills

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:
