Summary: The Operations Engineer role involves ensuring the reliable operation of applications both on-premise and in the cloud for a renowned insurance company. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the reliable operation of applications – both on-premise and in the cloud.
- Identify automation potentials and implement improvements.
- Support the IT department in achieving greater agility and actively drive the development of the application landscape.
- Utilize containers, CI/CD, and cloud technologies to create stable and secure solutions.
- Continuously expand knowledge to effectively use new technologies.
- Contribute to trust in solutions through quality awareness and a DevOps mindset.
Key Skills:
- Mainframe knowledge – ability to navigate the environment without programming.
- Experience with Veracode scans, SQL queries, and pentesting to uncover code vulnerabilities.
- Knowledge of certificate changes and security certificates.
- Experience with cloud technologies (ideally AWS and/or Azure) and operating applications in the cloud.
- Proficient with containerization tools like Kubernetes or Docker and building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Interest in analyzing and modernizing older systems.
- Experience in operating and optimizing existing on-premise systems (e.g., Tomcat, WebSphere, MS SQL Server, Db2).
- Very good German skills (negotiation level) and good English skills in spoken and written form.
- Nice to have: Basic knowledge in the area of goods and credit insurance.

Profil

- Erfahrung im Umgang mit Cloud-Technologien (idealerweise AWS und/oder Azure) und im Betrieb von Anwendungen in der Cloud
- Sicherer Umgang mit Containerisierungstools wie Kubernetes oder Docker sowie beim Aufbau und der Pflege von CI/CD-Pipelines
- Keine Scheu vor älteren Systemen – du analysierst sie mit Interesse und führst sie strukturiert in die Moderne
- Erfahrung im Betrieb und in der Optimierung bestehender On-Premise-Systeme (z. B. Tomcat, WebSphere, MS SQL Server, Db2)
