Summary: The Operational Risk Lead position is a 6-month contract role within a corporate bank located in London, focusing on enhancing the bank's operational risk framework and ensuring regulatory compliance. The candidate must possess over three years of operational risk experience in corporate or wholesale banking and be available to start immediately or on short notice. Responsibilities include leading risk assessments, developing key risk indicators, and delivering training across the branch. The role requires strong communication skills to influence senior stakeholders effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and enhance the Bank's Operational Risk Framework, ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance
- Drive and embed the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) programme across all departments
- Review and challenge risk assessments, ensuring completeness and quality
- Develop, refine and oversee the Key Risk Indicator (KRI) framework and reporting
- Analyse operational risk events, track remediation actions, and produce meaningful MI for senior management and committees
- Deliver operational risk training across the Branch
- Facilitate scenario analysis workshops and support stress/scenario testing exercises
- Prepare reporting for senior committees, including Risk Committee and executive forums
- Support continuous improvement of methodologies for measuring operational risk exposure
- Liaise with Group functions and contribute to regulatory engagement where required
- Provide cross-team support within the Risk function when necessary
Key Skills:

- Extensive experience in operational risk management within corporate, wholesale banking.
- Strong knowledge of UK operational risk regulatory requirements
- Degree educated (finance, accounting, economics or other numerate discipline) and/or relevant professional qualification
- Proven experience implementing RCSAs, KRIs, risk event processes and scenario analysis
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide constructive challenge
- Experience working with wholesale banking products and operational processes

You must have 3+ Years of Operational Risk experience within corporate or wholesale banking. You must have proven experience in implementing RCSAs, KRIs, risk event processes and scenario analysis.
