Summary: Operational Resilience & Business Continuity Manager is needed for a major global law firm to ensure effective response and recovery from disruptions while maintaining service delivery, especially in regulated sectors like banking and insurance. The role involves strengthening the operational resilience framework and supporting crisis management activities across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support incident response and recovery activities to manage crisis events and meet compliance requirements
- Develop, implement, and maintain Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs)
- Contribute to the firm's operational resilience framework, aligning with industry standards and regulatory expectations
- Identify important business services and map supporting processes, systems, and dependencies
- Assist in defining and reviewing impact tolerances to ensure service continuity during disruptions
- Participate in scenario testing and simulation exercises
- Conduct resilience risk assessments, focusing on vulnerabilities, dependencies, and third-party risks
- Collaborate with business units to develop and maintain response and recovery plans
- Monitor and report on resilience risks, issues, and incidents, escalating where appropriate
- Engage with clients to demonstrate alignment with operational resilience expectations
- Support business development activities, including RFIs, tenders, and client due diligence
- Deliver training and awareness sessions on resilience practices
- Maintain documentation to support audits and client requirements
- Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, innovation, and stakeholder engagement
Key Skills:
- Expert experience in business continuity and/or operational resilience
- Experience implementing resilience frameworks (ISO22301) in complex, regulated environments
- Strong enterprise/business focus (rather than technology-led resilience such as IT DR or IT risk)
- Subject matter expertise in operational resilience and business continuity
- Experience with scenario testing, impact tolerances, and risk assessment
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills - confident, articulate, and able to influence at all levels
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving capability
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and manage ambiguity
- Proven ability to deliver at pace and coordinate across teams
- Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills
- Experience with ServiceNow (Business Continuity module), including gathering business requirements, is advantageous
