Summary: The Operational Excellence Professional role in Manchester is a hybrid position focused on enhancing process efficiency and driving financial transformation across various business units. The successful candidate will optimize financial processes, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance and operational excellence. This role requires a blend of financial expertise and project management skills to implement best practices effectively. The position is contracted until December 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Optimisation & Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Record to Report (RtR) processes.
  • Change & Project Management: Drive transformation projects, ensuring smooth implementation with minimal disruption.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Shared Service Centres, IT, and Business Unit Controllers to align on process strategies.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyse financial data, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement validated solutions.
  • Governance & Compliance: Maintain process documentation, ensure adherence to global standards, and monitor controls.
  • Training & Development: Provide training to teams and develop key performance metrics to track process quality and efficiency.

Key Skills:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preferred: Finance, Economics, or related fields)
  • CIMA, CPA, or equivalent certification (required)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Kaizen certification (preferred)
  • 5-10 years of experience in finance & accounting, with a strong focus on financial closing, reporting, and reconciliation
  • 5-10 years of experience in process optimisation and business process re-engineering
  • Strong understanding of SAP and financial shared service environments
  • Proven experience in operational excellence, stakeholder management, and process transformation
  • Proactive problem solver with a data-driven mindset and strong analytical abilities
  • Ability to lead projects and drive a culture of continuous improvement
