Summary: The Operational Excellence Lead - Building Safety will spearhead the development of a national health, safety, and quality improvement framework, focusing on building safety. This role involves overseeing accreditation processes, leading a team, and enhancing systems to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in safety standards. The position is a 12-month fixed-term contract, primarily aimed at high-risk industries. The successful candidate will represent the framework in industry forums and support strategic development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end onboarding, assessment, and accreditation process for organisations seeking framework recognition.
- Lead a small, high-performing team and coordinate a broader network of industry assessors.
- Develop and continuously improve systems, digital tools, and processes to support the framework's delivery.
- Represent the framework in key industry forums, events, and regulatory relationships.
- Produce reports, impact data, and user guidance to support transparency, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Support the strategic development of the framework, including planning for potential external accreditation (e.g., UKAS).
Key Skills:
- Background in health & safety, risk management, or quality assurance, ideally in a high-hazard or regulated industry (e.g., construction or engineering).
- Experience managing or contributing to standards, assessment frameworks, or accreditation schemes.
- Strong project management, operational delivery, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Confidence with digital systems and assessment platforms.
- Comfortable with strategic planning as well as hands-on delivery.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
