Operational Buyer
Warwick | 12-Month Contract | Inside IR35
Belcan Workforce Solutions is recruiting for an experienced Operational Buyer to join a leading engineering programme based in Warwick. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys working with complex challenges, analysing large volumes of data and driving solutions in a fast-paced environment.
As an Operational Buyer, you will be responsible for managing purchasing activities, supplier relationships, order placement, expediting and procurement administration whilst supporting the wider business through informed, data-driven decision making. You'll work extensively with SAP, Excel and Power BI to analyse supplier and purchasing data, identify trends, improve performance and support operational delivery.
We're looking for more than a transactional buyer. This role would suit a proactive "fixer" and solution-seeker who can work with minimal supervision, take ownership of issues and drive them through to resolution. Candidates must be confident working with large volumes of information, possess strong analytical skills and demonstrate a lean, continuous improvement mindset.
Experience within aerospace, manufacturing or other industrial sectors would be particularly beneficial, especially where you've worked with complex engineered products such as castings, forgings or other technical components. You'll be comfortable operating in a high-pressure environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

- Proven experience as an Operational Buyer within a manufacturing, engineering, aerospace or industrial environment
- Strong SAP experience with advanced Excel and Power BI skills
- Ability to analyse large and complex datasets and turn information into actionable insights
- Experience managing supplier relationships, negotiations and purchasing activities
- Self-sufficient approach with the confidence to work independently and solve problems proactively
- Experience with castings, forgings or complex engineered products would be advantageous
- Strong administration skills with the ability to maintain multiple systems and data sheets accurately
