Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions and business processes on the Openshift platform.

Description Openshift Architect this is an architectengineer hybrid I need someone with good product knowledge of openshift top to bottom with hands on engineering expertise Primary role at this stage is to develop our solutions and business processes on our new openshift platform Role Description The role is part of Virtualization Engineering Team within Distributed Compute in CTO Enterprise services A VMware Engineering POD Lead is responsible for guiding the development and delivery of VMware products ensuring they meet business needs and customer expectations Responsible for VMware Products Vision and Strategy with a focus on automation availability reliability performance and scale Managing complex environmental issues collaborating with wider teams such as Operations Applications Engineering Connectivity and vendors Establish and enforce engineering standards and SRE best practices through platform constraints and highfidelity system modelling The successful applicant will be in undertaking all processes and procedures that underpin an effective and efficient engineering solutions to support business critical services hosted on VMware shared platform Jobholder will also be responsible for driving the Service Sustainability Transformation and SRE initiatives within team drive automation of routine tasks and ensure improved service reliability through engineering solutions In this role you will Lead and mentor a team of VMware engineers within the POD structure Responsible for people and performance management of the team Design deploy and manage VMware vSphere VRO vRLI and related technologies Oversee daytoday operations troubleshooting and performance tuning of the virtual environment Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to deliver infrastructure solutions for business needs Drive automation initiatives using tools such as PowerCLI Ansible or vRealize Suite INTERNAL Develop and maintain technical documentation standards and best practices Participate in capacity planning disaster recovery and business continuity activities Stay updated with the latest VMware technologies and industry trends Engage key stakeholders to ensure product success and value communicate issues progress and resolutions for critical incidents liaise between operations and engineering teams Continuously monitor compliance and mitigate risks using tools like vRealize Operations ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies Manage and improve product offerings throughout their lifecycle using Agile methodologies assess resource needs for critical services Share regular product updates with stakeholders ensure products are updated and compliant with supported versions communicate CVEs promptly Provide technical direction and leadership ensuring best practices in VMware products distributed systems servers and storage Handle crisis situations efficiently representing the team in major incident calls and providing technical expertise Implement robust monitoring and ing systems to proactively manage platform health Ensure system availability and performance meeting defined SLAs and SLOs Plan for future capacity needs and optimize system performance through tuning and scaling To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: Extensive Years of total IT experience with large scale IT Infrastructure experience with Distributed Systems Ex Linux Windows High Availability Solutions Server Hardware and VMware products Diploma BE BTech MTech MSc in Computer Science IT preferred or any engineering field considered or equivalent Proven leadership and team management skills Experienced in managing and maintaining VMware products vSphere vCenter vROPS vRO vRLI vRLCM within banking finance domain Proven ability to lead and drive engineering deliveries through automation using PowerCLI Python Ansible vRO workflows in large scale virtualization infrastructure Strong understanding of network and storage technologies in relation to distributed systems especially VMware platform Ability to work collaboratively in team environment and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders Excellent communication interpersonal leadership and problemsolving skills Proficient in managing the entire lifecycle of hardware and software from planning and deployment to maintenance and decommissioning Skills Mandatory Skills : CI/CD Architecture, Kubernetes, Openshift, Oracle Linux Administration, VMWare Tanzu
