I'm looking for a freelance network engineer or technician to assist with the setup and distribution of a fibre broadband connection across a 6-floor commercial building in London.
Scope of Work:
- The main fibre line is already installed and terminated at the building entry point (ground floor/server cabinet)
- Each floor hosts a separate company and has its own small network cabinet (already installed)
Your role would be to:
- Assess and map the internal cabling or propose the best layout
- Distribute the fibre or network connectivity from the main connection point to each floor (either via switches or structured cabling)
- Set up floor-level switches or routers if needed
- Ensure each company gets isolated and functional internet access
- Work with our system administrator to finalise VLANs or configurations if required
Environment:
- The building has existing Cat6 cabling in some areas, may need patching or expansion
